Your home's square footage, the number of rooms, the height of the ceilings, the number of windows, the amount of insulation, and the climate where you live all play a role in determining the size of the HVAC system that is required. To determine the proper size of the unit required, a load calculation can be done by an HVAC expert. This calculation determines the heating and cooling load necessary to keep your home at a comfortable temperature by taking into account all of the aforementioned variables. In order to avoid wasting energy and money on a unit that is either too big or too small for your home, it is crucial to make sure the HVAC system is sized correctly. A properly sized unit will also offer the best comfort and air quality.
There is a fairly straightforward formula frequently used in the HVAC business to determine the best way to spend your money when considering repairs. Simply multiply the age of the item by the expense of repairs. If the amount is more than $5,000, you should replace it. If you frequently have to repair the same system, you should do the same action.
On the other hand, if your system is less than five years old, requires only the occasional repair, and functions well overall, it's probable that you won't need to replace it for some time.
If your AC unit is running but not blowing cold air, there could be several possible reasons. It could be due to a refrigerant leak, which can cause a drop in cooling capacity. Another possibility is a dirty or clogged air filter, restricting proper airflow and hindering cooling performance. Additionally, a malfunctioning compressor, faulty thermostat, or issues with the condenser or evaporator coils could also contribute to the problem. It is recommended to contact a professional HVAC technician to diagnose and address the specific issue, as they have the expertise to identify and resolve the problem effectively.
Yes, poor indoor air quality can significantly impact allergies. Allergens such as dust mites, pet dander, pollen, mold spores, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can become trapped indoors and circulate in the air. Breathing in these allergens can trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals, leading to symptoms like sneezing, coughing, congestion, itching, and watery eyes. Additionally, poor indoor air quality can worsen respiratory conditions such as asthma. To alleviate allergy symptoms, it is important to improve indoor air quality by regularly cleaning and vacuuming, using high-quality air filters, maintaining proper ventilation, controlling humidity levels, and considering the use of air purifiers.

Always great service, even on weekends!
Nelson - Powell, OH 43065
I continue to receive great service, and this time when our air conditioning went out on the weekend. After some attempts to verify on my own this wasn't just a lockup I called SHC on Sunday morning at 8:45 AM and Wally called me back 2 minutes later to let me know he has my call and will be his second stop. He arrived about 90 minutes later and diagnosed the issue and repaired it (bad capacitor) in under 30 minutes.
