2019 York air conditioner. Unit has thawed. Check pressures and they are good. All electronics are within specs unit is 2 years old. Customer mentioned they had changed the filter before I came and it was very dirty. Dirty filter caused lack of airflow causing the coil to freeze and with it being as frozen as it was unit need to that before running it after changing the filter. Temp split is 18 degrees. Let customer know to change filter one a month. All okay at this time.
Customers thermostat showing low battery. They said they’ve tried several batteries and it’s not helping. Fan will run when setting the fan on I will not call for heating or cooling. Provided options for thermostats on page hh5. I wanted to go with T4 pro thermostat. Cycled system on heating and cooling. Showed customer thermostat operation. Customer will set schedule up later. Gave customer,er user guide for thermostat. All okay at this time.
Customer opted to have me install new thermostat for option ho1a. Installed thermostat and helped him set it up. Provided estimate for 50 gallon hot water tank with expansion tank for $1619 plus $110 for expansion tank. Customer wanted to proceed with have new tank installed today. Completed water heater installation and air conditioner check.
1994 Lennox air conditioner. Customer mentioned temperature on thermostat not going down when she turned on the ac. Found voltage distribution center failed and not allowing voltage pass and fire up the condenser unit. Showed options for repair on page Hd3. Customer chose hd3a. Completed repair and cycled unit. All okay at this time.
Customer having issues with allergies. Discussed iwave air purification with customer as well as whole home humidifier. Customer mentioned air in home feels dry. Not interested in upgraded to Aprilaire filtration system, but does have option to later in the future. Customer is interested in having iwave and humidifier installed but wants to discuss with husband. Let her know to call us when she is ready. Wanted me to email her options for silver and below.
2014 rheem air handler. Customer mentioned motor sounding louder than normal, started yesterday. Found issue to be with high static pressure due to extremely plugged furnace filter causing motor to run hard. Customer changed filter. Loud unit to run for 10 minutes motor is stable and no longer loud. Customer said he change the filter last week very surprised it was plugged as it was. Recommended having ducts cleaned. Gave information for fresh air corp. Has been quite sometime since system has been serviced. Offered cleaning on page hk5. Customer declined at this time. Outdoor unit has never been cleaned. Recommended getting it serviced before the start of air conditioner season. All okay at this time.
2000 trane gas furnace. Found circuit board showing code 4 for open limit switch. Found flame roll out tripped. Reset and furnace returned normal operation. Found voltage to igniter dropping and igniting the gas late causing flame rollout for a brief second. Igniter slightly out of specs. Tested with new igniter and it did not change. No water backing up into collector box and drain. Lines are clear. Pressure switch tubing is clear. Bypassed pressure switch and did not change. Lit gas manually to fire up system and perform combustion analysis. During test when blower motor came on carbon monoxide is flue pipe began to rise and went over 1000 ppm before I shut furnace down. Let customer know there is either a cracked primary heat exchanger or a corroded secondary heat exchanger. Offered to get a price on repairs as well as an estimate for replacement. Customer would like an estimate. Jamie scheduled out to give estimate. Shut off gas at shutoff and shut power off at disconnect and red
1994 Lennox gas furnace. Found flame sensing having issues. Large amount of carbon buildup on sensor. Inside of system is quite dirty. Found voltage absorption system for blower motor out of specs and leaking oil from seam. Provided customer with options on page hk5 for repair. Customer chose hk5b to cover both concerns. Cleaned system throughly. Removed burners and cleaned. Cleaned flame sensors with steel wool. Cleared barometric tubing. Wiped down inside of system. Replaced voltage absorption system. Tested combustion, passed. All okay at this time.
2003 comfortmaker gas furnace. Completed mechanical, safety, and performance test on furnace. Inducer motor humming very loud and consistently. Motor is also running at amps higher than shown on the data plate. Motor is near possible failure. Transformer is making a lot of buzzing could be a sign of possible failure of the transformer. Transformer is mount well so it is not vibration. Discussed everything with customer and he will keep an eye on it and call us if he has any issues. All okay at this time.
